A Christmas Manicure

I don't often attempt a French Manicure because I know it'll end up in tears.

However, festivities got to me and I decided I'd give it a go, but with a Christmas twist. An earlier post saw me desperate for a metallic nail varnish - I thought I found 'the one' when I searched on Amazon, but when it arrived it was just a boring, plain silver. Not really what I'd hoped for. After weeks of sitting aimlessly in my drawer, it suddenly became useful.

I used my Accessorize nail polish for the base and the 'boring, plain silver' for the tip.

I am pleasantly suprised with how it turned out; subtle, chic and pretty. It's festive...but not too festive (red, green, gold, pine needles sprinkled on top sort of thing)

On another Christmassy note...

- The tree is up and decorated (although I was blissfully unaware that the tree had fallen over until this morning...).

- After anticipation, it finally decided to snow today. Not too happy about this however, it's ok for a day, but then it turns to slush and it's not pretty anymore.

- Elf was on the T.V the other night, one of my favourite Christmas films!

What is everyone doing to get in the Christmas mood this year? I'd love to hear :)

Not a Pauls Boutique fan, but...

...I'm kind of liking this 'Molly' bag, their most recent design. And yes, it does have the same name as me, so maybe it's meant to be?

So normally I'm not a fan of P.B, I find everything too loud and obnoxious (?). I prefer more conservative bags from designers such as Mulberry (who doesn't love them?) My most recent bag-lust is an ostrich skin, structured bag from ALDO - although sadly it's slowly falling apart.

Hopefully this new Molly bag will be on its way to me soon. (A little bit scared it may be too small, only 30cm wide may be a problem, what do you think?)

I'm a big fan of quilted clothing this year so this falls into that category perfectly.

Christmas Wishlist

I should know how many days it is 'til christmas, however thanks to my unorganised self, I haven't got an advent calender yet (and I can't be bothered to do the maths). At least this means I get to eat lots of choccies in one go when I do get my act together!

I've been browsing the Urban Outfitters and ASOS sites for too long now, wishing my pay cheque would come sooner. Instead of keeping it all to myself I thought I'd give you a rather picture-heavy blog post of all the things I like need :)

My unhealthy obsession with moustache's has taken over...(not real ones)
 Ring, £12, lovehearts and crosses
Pillows, £30, Urban Outfitters

A bit desperate for anything NARS at the moment
 Nars highlighting powder, £20.50, ASOS

Loving the faux fur collar here
Cable Cardi, £45, ASOS

Something I'd love to own, but admittedly probably won't be worn!
Vintagey heart watch, £25, ASOS

In love with the following (and the whole website in general)
Cream frock, £49, Never Fully Dressed

I could literally carry this on for the entire day, but I'll restrain myself. I love this time of year, bring on the party season! I'd love to hear what all of you would like too :)

Nude?

I know, I know...I'm behind with the whole 'nude nail craze', however it never appealed to me having nail varnish that looked like...well, nothing.

When I paint my nails, It has to look obvious. It has to look like I have something on otherwise I feel bare. I am aware that that is weird.

So when I picked up this baby from Accessorize, I was reluctant to give it a go, especially considering it is practically my skin colour.

However, I have decided I like. Although not completely sure of what to call this colour.

Lasting power? Check
Opaque in two coats? Check

*cue bad description*

Definitely effortless chic, it looks as if I have been lazy with my nails, yet makes them look naturally amazing.

I'm going to buy myself a couple of bottles because I know this is my new staple nail colour.

What I Wore...

Top//Urban Outfitters.
Skirt//Urban Outfitters.
Socks//Tesco!!
Shoes//Topshop
Ring//Llymers Jwlry shop.

Loving the 'vintagey' look, the school girl frilly socks are a favourite plus the fact that they were a bargain, 50p from Tesco!

Literally can't get enough of Urban Outfitters at the moment, although it can be expensive, this top was £18 in the sale, not too bad. The cherry coloured skirt adds a pop of colour.

I decided I needed some new boots for this winter and found some amazingly cheap ones in H&M but they didnt have my size...typical! So in the end I opted for the riding style boots from Topshop. Lovin' them!

American Fingertips.

Dwelling on the past....and suffering from the summer blues, especially with the bi-polar weather we are suffering from here in the UK.

I went on an American road trip in the summer, visiting L.A, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, Pheonix, Palm Springs etc. It was amazing and I want to go back!

Before we flew out, I felt the need to get in the American spirit...

I got these acylic nails which the technician and I just made up as we went along, but thankfully it turned out ok! (Apart from the fact that my bum went numb after sitting down for 2 and a half hours...ouch!)

I'd love to have acylic nails all the time - wouldn't we all? But they are expensive and do damage the nail. Which is a shame because they look amazing!

Gothic Glamour

Black is the classic colour everyone goes back to. It goes with, you name it, everything.

So when I was rummaging through my wardrobe at 7.30am, frantically trying to find suitable clothes for a day of college, why is it I immediatly turned to the reliable black leggins and a black tunic? Simply because it looks...nice.

After my morning crisis, ASOS once again became my saviour.
I found this...

I couldn't get a good shot of the back, so take a look at the link.

The rings are from Accessorize.

Who said Gothic was out of fashion?

The delicate, sheer material juxtaposes the inital heaviness of the piece and the white embroidered crosses uplift the intensity.

What I'm trying to say is; it's unique.

The cape-like pleat at the back is my favourite. £39 is not cheap and quite frankly, I don't think it should be that expensive but I am going to keep my beady eye on Reverse - the design label - because of their innovative designs and I think you should too!

Metallic nail varnish

The other night I dreamt about a nail varnish.

Yes, I am that sad.

Ever since, I have been trauling the internet to find a colour that matches my vision...
The only way I can describe it is the outside layer of tin foil - a mirror.

I can see it now; a black striped tunic tucked into a woolen, maroon skirt with MIRRORED NAILS!
So, if anyone could recommend me one, that'd be perfect! But in the meantime, I shall carry on dreaming...

With Regret...

Honestly, I never planned for my 'focus on study' break to be so long. I regret it hugely because blogging was (and still is!) my love. A Levels are taking its toll, and quite frankly, that's the only valid reason for my non-existant blogging.

A massive thank you to all the followers that have continued to follow my blog.

But one thing is for certain, I am back. For good. Without a doubt. I promise.
