What I Wore

Forever 21 has arrived in the UK! Their first flagship store is at the Bull Ring in Birmingham, and of course, with January Sales approaching I had to swoon at this beautifully decorated American store.

I must admit, I didn't buy a lot from here, but I did get this lovely bohemian style jacket embellished with sequins. (I was never aware at how much Americans like their sequins,
almost every item of clothing had some sparkly sequin on it :P )The jacket is very busy so the rest of the outfit is pretty 'plain jane'.

Hope you all had a wonderful christmas and have a wicked new year :)

My Week

1. Drank hot chocolate...

2+3. Went for a lovely Autumns day walk

4. Watched The Notebook. And yes, I weeped...a lot.

5. Played cards - they were massive!

6. Muted X Factor. I'm not into it at all this year (and i don't like Cher...)

7. Woke up to a beautiful (but freezing) day.

I hope you all had a good week! We have officially entered The Party Season...waahoo!

What I wore

I am really loving the camel trend at the moment, and when out buying some new jeans, I thought 'Why not be a little different?' and so opted for these camel coloured skinnies. They are comfy and a little stretchy so I can actually move in them! They're from Topshop (who'd of thought?)

Another massive trend this season is obviously the chunky knits. I have quite a few now, but this grey one with navy elbow pads is my favourite. It was my first purchase from Zara, so I was even more excited than normal...sad, i know.

The necklace was in the sale in Topshop and adds some texture to the outfit.

These are the biker boots that I have been lusting after for a long time now, and I finally found them...in the colour I wanted...and the size I wanted. Horaahh! It was worth the wait. I'm sure you've all seen these before, because almost everyone has a pair.

This season, fashion has proved us that it can be practical!

Sunday 24 October 2010

Possible Outfit?

Topshop is an obsession, no doubt about that.
Khaki coloured, biker trousers = Trend and a half.

What do you think? Are you ready for the winter? I'm not, thats for sure, it came as a shock when we had to de-ice our car for the first time on wednesday. I hope you have all had a good week despite the weather (unless of course you're lucky and live in a lovely hot country)

Friday 15 October 2010

A silly little TAG...

...to make up for not keeping you updated (I did let you all know, but college is as crazy as ever at the moment). But I am doing my best to post whenever I can :) Description: http://www.luuux.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/post_large_image_portrait/bookmarklet_uploaded/TAG_1.jpg

1.Would you rather walk around all day with you skirt tucked in your underwear or be seen wearing a really see through dress?

Seen wearing a really see through dress because I'm assuming I will be wearing underwear...

2.Would you rather go to a party and not realize until the end of the night that you have lipstick on your teeth or that your fake lashes are coming unglued?

I'd rather lipstick on my teeth, neither are attractive though!

3.Would you rather forget to put mascara on one eye or forget blush on one side of your face?

Forget to put blush on one side of my face, I have really rosy cheeks naturally so it probably wouldn't look too obvious.

4.Would you rather wear the clashing lipstick/lipliner combo or the frosty blue eyeshadow?

A tricky one, but I think I’d go for the frosty blue eyeshadow…ew!

5.Would you rather wear foundation that is two shades too light or go way overboard on bronzer?

Wear foundation two shades too light, I’d just bronze up my skin…am I allowed to do that?

6.Would you rather drink an entire bottle of ketchup or run into the guy who broke your heart on a bad hair day when your skin is freaking out?

Run into the guy who broke my heart. If he broke my heart then there is no point in worrying about what I look like in front of him.

7.Would you rather be able to date any celeb you wanted or wake up with perfect red carpet-worthy hair?

This is also really tricky, I’d probably date any celebrity I wanted to…as long as it was guaranteed to last and not just a short fling! (And for the matter, it would be Channing Tatum...*sigh*)

8.Would you rather your armpits smell musky or like delicious lasagne?

Lasagne…gross, but still…better than a musky smell.

9.Would you rather give up your makeup or cell phone for one year?

Give up my makeup for a year, it would be difficult for the first week, but after that you’d get used to it. It would also save loads of time in the morning and give my skin a break. I honestly couldn’t give up my phone!

10.Would you rather run into a cute guy you like with food all in your grill or no makeup at all?

No makeup at all. (Is ‘grill’ an American saying, because I don’t know what it means!)

And I tag all of my lovely readers, leave a link in the comments or something so I can have a look :) Thankyou all for having the patience with me and my lack of posts! I'm doing my best :)

NOTD: Illamasqua

It goes by the name Muse. And I love it.

Smooth and creamy? Yep.

Full coverage? Yep.
Is it pigmented, you may ask. Yep. Very.

At first, I only applied one coat, just to see if it was streaky or not. And I can honestly tell you now that it most certainly was not streaky. It was pretty much opaque on the first coat. A-mazing.

I applied two coates anyway for the lasting-power. I've only had it on one day, and, well, to be honest it has chipped a little bit on the tips. But nothing obvious. And it hasn't put me off it. I love the colour, a deep blue-green and it suits my skin tone.

Also, it's a completely new colour to add to my collection - I don't own anything like it!

I bought mine off ASOS for £5.

FIVE POUNDS!

I couldn't beleive it. So race down there to grab yours at this bargain price!

Outfit of the Day

Package ordered Sunday afternoon.
Package arrived Monday morning.
PLUS free delivery...now that is what I call good service!

I ordered 2 nail polish's, 2 tops, and 3 necklaces. And out of that, I wore this today:I'm wearing;
a pair of grey leggins from Accessorize.
Plain grey top to slip underneath from H&M
Abstract sheer print top from ASOS
Pale pink cardigan from New Look
Angel wing necklace from ASOS
Pandora bracelet
Silver beaded bracelet.

I decided to wear a top underneath for warmth and length (coverin' ma bum). I decided that the outfit was a little too grey and dull, so added the pink cardigan for a little more colour.

I love this necklace and I think it goes really nicely with the outfit. It was only £4 too.

I wore my brogues from New Look aswell, but if I had some biker boots then I would have worn them.

I would love to know what you think! But for now, I'm going to try out my new Illamasqua nail polish, eeee, exciting stuff :D

Sunday 3 October 2010

What's in my bag?

I thought I may aswell follow the trend as I haven't written a post in too long - sorry about that!

I literally have a Mary Poppins bag, I can fit anything and everything in it.(One time i stuffed my massive fur coat in it, and I still had room for everything else!)

Before you ask, yes, I do carry a KitKat with me pretty much wherever I go, you never know when you might feel a bit peckish)

My bag is at the back which I got for my birthday (i've done a previous blog post on it).

Rose and Almond Oil Vaseline, absolute lipsaver (ha!), especially for winter.

Sunglasses, there is a small possibility that the sun will shine in England!

My makeup bag

Water

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, I'm currently studying it in English Lit+Lang, and it's honestly the first book that I've studyed that I have enjoyed. It's a true story aswell! I recommend.

My Primark purse, such a bargain. Plus it's very Chanel-esque :)

Mini purse which I keep my keys and memory stick in

Headphones of course!

This is actually a period pad holder, cute design and very descrete!

D&G L'Imperatrice Perfume, it's a big bottle so not great to carry around if you've got a full bag already. It doesn't stop me though!

A KitKat :)

A mirror

My iPhone. I'm going to admit that I feel lost without it.

A hairband

Two pocket sized perfumes (Eau des Jardins by Clarins and Princess by Vera Wang)

And a pen.

This is everything that I carry around with me on a day-to-day basis (minus all the recipts and random notes)

Hope you guys liked and I promise I'll be back with an outfit-of-the-day (once my ASOS package has arrived, eee)

Wednesday 29 September 2010

Sorry!

I am so sorry for the lack of posts recently. It's been a hectic month, starting college etc. The amount of extra work we get is ridiculous, but I suppose it's just the way it is.

But, I am planning on doing a 'Whats in my bad tag' this week. So I will get that done as soon as I can! And of course more 'outfit of the days' :)

I promise I will make up for this drought of posts :)

How has September been for you? Hectic, like me?

Sunday 19 September 2010

Outfit of the Day!

It's been a while since i've done one of these, sorry!

Today I felt a bit lazy if I'm honest, but it's Sunday so that's my excuse :)
A lazy mood = a simple outfitThe baggy tee is from ASOS for £22. It's quite low-cut so you might decide to wear something underneath but I love the way it hangs off the body. It's also long enough to wear it with those fabulously comfy leggins!

At last minute I decided to add this cotton, grey waistcoat from Topshop. I got it quite a while ago now, but they're now back in fashion, so something similar will be easy to get hold of! I wouldn't say it adds warmth, but it adds texture to the outfit :)
These beauties are from Dorothy Perkins for £22, they soften up the look a bit more, but to 'roughen' it up you could wear biker boots.

I hope you liked this quickie of a post :) But for now...

...some random bits and bobs im rather excited about
When I visited Eyeko.com, I was tempted enough to buy the 'Eyeko Cream'. It's meant to be a highlighter, eye cream and moisturiser all in one. If I'm honest, I didn't like using it as a moisturiser, it didn't really feel like a moisturiser on my skin. However, I LOVE how it works for a highlighter and the amount you get for £8 is pretty good if you ask me!

I also got the L'Oreal Kids De-Tangler spray, sounds stupid, looks stupid but oh no, it smells amazing, like pears and leaves your hair shiney smooth, for £1.50 you can't say no!

I got a discontinued MAC eyeshadow, 'Hey'. I don't know why it's discontinued because it's such a subtle pale pink that looks silky on the lid. Also, I got the MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage, wanted it for a long time now and finally got it. You all know I suffer with shine on my face throughout the day and this works wonders!

Finally, I bought Rimmels new Lash Accelerator mascara, I don't know how it works yet, but i'm intrigued to find out!

Now let the lazy day continue... :)

L'IMPÉRATRICE by D and G

It has overtaken Daisy by Marc Jacobs as my favourite scent. There, I said it.

The scent is fruity; a type of scent I usually steer away from.

'
D&G 3 L'Impératrice opens with top notes of rhubarb, red currant and juicy kiwi accord. The musky notes, sandalwood and grapefruit wood in the base notes are boisterous, brilliant and incredibly addictive'

'Incredibly addictive'? Ha, you can say that again! It's £35 for 100ml and I believe Naomi Campbell is the model for this particular perfume. It's a good deal if you ask me and it's lucky that it's such a big bottle because I can honestly not stop spraying this!
With the purchase I got this reasonably sized wash bag which will come in handy.

A fear I often have with perfumes is that it won't last long. But a few spritz here and there (wrists, neck and hair) is enough to last a full day at college, which is what I like! And considering it's an Eau de Toilette, that is pretty darn good!

I would say that this is very much a day scent - it's too casual for the evening. But I recommend this 100%. Obviously, scent is a very personal thing so when you're next perfume shopping, smell this and tell me what you think!

My first NOTD

'Oooh, is that the Chanel particulière you've got on there?'

'Well, it's the £3.50 version, yes'

Yep, there is near identical that I have been trying to find for months. This beauty is found at eyeko and I honestly think this is the best 'high street' dupe there is.

Posh Polish by Eyeko £3.50

Particulière by Chanel £19

Ok, so my application isn't quite as good as the Chanel picture, but you get the idea. The only difference I can really see by the pictures is the shine on the Particulière, but I think that if I put a top coat over the Posh Polish then it would look exactly the same. And even better, the mushroom-hued nail polish is bang on trend this year.

So here's what I like about the Posh Polish:

- Cute packaging, the bottle isn't a ridiculous size that I will never finish
- Application was easy
- Almost opaque with one coat, but two coates for a perfect finish
- Doesn't chip bad at all (without a top coat, it lasted three days without chipping!)
- And it drys amazingly fast

The only thing I can honestly say it could improve on is the amount of shine after it dries - it's slightly too matte for my liking, but obviously that's just a personal opinion.

I was shopping around Eyeko.com and actually bought two nail polishes and an eye cream, but because I spent over £10 I got another free nail polish...roll on the freebies!

For £3.50 it's a complete steal. I'm actually quite content about this find.

Thankyou Eyeko!

Off to college haul

I am sorry if your getting sick of my hauls now...but this August I have been 'in the money' (which is mainly because of my birthday), and I'll just let you know now...I am never rich. ever. and that's down to my 'spendaholic' self.

Anyway, I am starting a new college in a week now, and no uniform = an excuse to go shopping.

Here is what I bought today;A knitted, oversized cardi. In the photo I paired it with a cheap belt from Primark, with or without it looks amazing. Topshop, warm and oh so comfy.

My favourite top out of the lot! I especially love the elastic waist. Again, from Topshop.

I've had my eye on this baby for a few weeks now, and considering I haven't had a decent coat for two years, I thought it was about time I invest. Yes, you heard me, invest. It's faux fur, and yep, you guessed it, it's from Topshop.

(Damn, sorry for the bad quality) A zip-up cardigan with metallic studs. River Island.

Three basic tops, essential for layering. From good old H&M.

A plain, pale pink cardi from Newlook.

Mauve colour, beautiful detailing around the neckline. From River Island.

Lace up brogues. They're not real leather, but real enough for me! From New Look.

I finally got the foundation I have been desiring for ages. The Chanel Mat Lumiere in shade 20, which also has an SPF 15. With it, I got the precision eye definer in 02. (Once I've tried it out for a couple of weeks, would you like me to do a review?)

I apologize for that ridiculously long haul, but at least now I'm all stocked up for Autumn/Winter.
Thankyou very much for reading and I'd love to read your thoughts and views on my new purchases :)

The September Issue

Vogue, Vogue, Vogue, oh how I love you.

Now that it's almost September I thought why not make a post about my favourite magazine. Ever.
Kate Moss is the cover girl and oh my doesn't she look amazing in her desirable Burberry pea coat (but at £1,495 I think I'll leave it...)? It's this years biggest issue - and boy does it live up to it's expectations.

I recieved this baby in the post at the beginning of August, and as much as it sounds stupid, I got those butterflys in my tummy as soon as I realised it was Vogue!

'Did I just say that?'

This months issue marked Kates 30th British Vogue cover.

Kate has effortless beauty, and with this cover, the saying 'less is more' defintley describes this.
Her seven page wonder 'The Moss Factor' is stunning.

Here are my favourite photos out of the shoot:

(I would love to know what hair products they used to get the amount of texture and volume she has, just wow!)

Have you recieved the new issue of Vogue? Don't you think 'Mossy' is just gorge?!

I'm back!

Yes, I am back after a lovely, relaxing week at Centre Parcs.

It's funny because we actually didn't do a lot, but I am completely shattered now!
I didn't realise but we were actually staying in an 'executive' suite which includes Wifi...but the Wifi broke on the first use...smooth, centre parcs ;)

We did a lot of cycling, swimming in the rapids (and I can tell you now that I will never wear a bikini in those rapids again, embarrasing times...), eating (of course), went on the huge zip wire, a bit of ping pong here and there and generally just chilling. Which is exactly how I like it!

Have any of you been to Centre Parcs before?

Friday 20 August 2010

Just a quick update

So I had my first spray tan on Tuesday. Um. What can I say? It's all very well when people say 'Don't do it, you'll look like an Orange'... I dismissed those comments, and I can honestly say now, that when I came out of that tanning booth I was completely mortified!

I'm not exaggerating here, It looked like I had rolled around in mud for the day. Not my idea of a 'natural glow'.

I had been warned not to go into the shower that night because it would all wash off - sounded good to me!

But i bared all, and was so happy to jump in the shower the next morning. To my delight, I could see the 'muddiness' wash away.

And now? I am what your call a 'natural glow'. Thank the lord. Quite the contrary to my feelings at the beginning, I actually love the colour now.

I had the spray tan for my joint 16th Birthday bash - which was on Wednesday. We both rented out a local club and it was a 'ravers' theme. Neon everything. Looked amazing. Here is that scrumptious cake I have been eating all day...

(Yes, it is covered in m&m's...get it? Molly and Maisie...)

Lastly, next week I am off to Centre Parcs - and although this means I will have to put up with the recent (recent? more like normal) miserable weather here in England, I cannot wait! Unfortunately this means I cant blog during the week *sad face*. I'm going to miss it, but don't fret, I will be back!

Monday 16 August 2010

Suprise suprise, I went shopping! (plus an outfit of the day)

Shocking news, I know...

As I previously mentioned in my blog I said it was my birthday, and I had some lovely money to spend.

And me being me, I overspent. Ooppss.

Anyway here is what I bought;

Some MAC translucent powder, I'm hoping this is a life-saver for oily skinned people like everyone says it is! Plus my first MAC lipstick in Creme Cup, a beautiful, natural baby pink.

A new pandora charm!

A basic blue and white stripey top - long enough to wear with leggins and a denim jacket.

Outfit of the day

I couldn't go shopping and not go into my favourite shop, almighty Topshop.

I bought this beautiful Leopard print, almost-asymmetric dress. You could 'rock it up' with some biker boots, or 'chic it down' with some pumps.
£45.
To complete this look, I also got this insanely versatile denim jacket and £40 was the price of this baby.
The shoes are gladiator sandles from River Island and I believe they were £35.

Hope you guys liked it, and i'd love to know what you think!
